On 20th February 2024, Mahindra proudly announced the establishment of its brand-new production facility in Ararica, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil at the prestigious Piratini Palace. This state-of-the-art facility, covering a vast area of 93,000 sq. m., is scheduled to open in the first half of 2025, and signifies Mahindra’s unwavering commitment to the Brazilian agricultural sector
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed figures, including Mr. Eduardo Leite (Governor, Rio Grande do Sul), Mr. Gabriel Souza (Vice-Governor, Rio Grande do Sul) and Mr. Suresh K. Reddy (Hon. Ambassador of India to Brazil). Representing Mahindra’s leadership were Mr. Viren Popli (CEO & President, Mahindra Americas), and Mr. Jak Torretta Junior (CEO, Mahindra Brazil)
“The protagonists to lead the agricultural sector, are the Brazilian farmers, particularly the small and medium-sized producers who are the backbone of our nation’s food security,” stated Mr. Jak Torretta Junior (CEO, Mahindra Brazil). “These producers require robust and economical tractors and machinery to optimise production costs. Our mission is to empower precisely this segment of the agricultural community.”
One of the top priorities for Mahindra is to maintain its current workforce in southern Brazil. While ensuring job security, the new facility is expected to create a further 300 direct and indirect jobs, bolstering the local economy.
Having established a strong presence in less than eight years, with over 8,000 tractors already gracing Brazilian soil, Mahindra is committed to play a vital role in the nation’s agricultural future.
