Rising Above Limits: Mahindra’s Landmark Delivery to Nepal’s Remote Highlands
In an achievement that redefined the boundaries of accessibility, 11 units of Mahindra Arjun Novo 755 DI 4WD tractors were successfully delivered to Chharka, Upper Dolpa—Nepal's highest permanent human settlement at an altitude of 4,300 meters (14,100 feet). This pioneering initiative, symbolized the infusion of horsepower, hope, and resilience into one of South Asia's most challenging terrains.
The journey to Chharka was anything but ordinary. Covering over 150 kilometres from Pokhara to Jomsom, the expedition tested both machine endurance and human resolve. The real challenge began beyond Jomsom, with only 52 kilometres of motorable road available. The remaining route encompassed steep trekking trails, icy high-altitude passes such as Chharka La (5,015 meters) and Jungben La (5,550 meters), and a harsh, untouched landscape where machines seldom venture. Yet, the rugged Mahindra tractors conquered these trails, proving their mettle in areas even four-wheelers avoid.
Selected for their robust power, reliability, and 4WD capabilities, the Arjun Novo 755 DI tractors are now pivotal in driving haulage and construction projects—essential for progress in this remote Himalayan region.
To further enhance local support, the region’s first-ever Customer Meet Program and Free Service Camp was organised in Chharka itself. These initiatives underscored the brand's commitment to fostering development in places often overlooked.
Mahindra tractors demonstrated that when the goal is clear, no altitude is insurmountable—even in landscapes where roads barely exist.
