Fun and insightful tractor trivia and tech.Fact 1
For decades, it has been a standard practice to fill tractor tyres with water to add weight and improve traction. However, this practice poses some safety concerns, especially at high speeds. In colder regions, beetroot juice is used instead, as it doesn’t freeze.
Fact 2
The 3-point hitch is the simplest and only statically stable way to connect an implement to a tractor. First tested in 1917, it became widely used after Harry Ferguson patented it in 1926.
Fact 3
The world’s fastest tractor is the JCB Fastrac Two. With 1,016 HP, it clocked 217.568 km/h, driven by Guy Martin at Elvington Airfield in the UK, earning a Guinness World Record.
